So lovely…
A friend of this page named Shampa sent me this photo yesterday, of me and Richard from Texas, when we were on Oprah. He was a beautiful, charmed, hilarious, vital friend, and I will miss him forever. I still remember the way he used to answer the casual question, "How are you?" when asked by polite strangers in shops and such. He'd pause, scratch his beard lazily, and drawl, "Oh, it's all gonna be alright…"
Indeed it is.
We all love you, Richard.
Heart,
Liz

Hellooooo Readers!
Does anybody want a chance to read my new book "The Signature of All Things" months before it comes out?
If so, click here:
https://www.firsttoread.com/?CMP=SMC-ATWT%2F
If you sign up for my publisher's First To Read program, you may win a chance to get a e-book of the novel, months before it's published. Truthfully, I don't really know how stuff works, but here's what Penguin told me about it today: "This is a direct-to-consumer website that allows readers to request a limited number of electronic copies of your book to read early. They’re encrypted so that they cannot be shared."
If you want to try to get in on this hot wordy action, sign up!
You have until July 15 to make your move!
Happy reading,
Liz

A friend of this page name Cheryl sent me this amazing picture, in tribute to the late, great Richard from Texas. Bless his memory, and bless you, Cheryl, for this. I love it.
FORZA, everyone. Strength.

Dear Ones –
Have you all seen this video? If not, take a moment and watch it. It's so beautiful and amazing. It seems rather impossible that this child is not a reincarnation of some long-gone Tibetan Lama. Either that, or those parents of his are feeding him a steady diet of Descartes-themed video games….
Either way: Gorgeous.
Love,
Liz

You don't expect fourth-graders to be wise. They're still boys. But one, who was playing and ruminating on his back patio, had a knack for cosmology seemingly well beyond his years.
