EVENING COUNTDOWN CONTINUES…
Only 26 more days till "The Signature of All Things" is officially published!
(Not that I'm counting.)
(OK, I'm totally counting.)
Twenty-six more days!
https://www.elizabethgilbert.com/books/the-signature-of-all-things/
Please note: Twenty six, fittingly enough, is the last letter of the alphabet. This is really amazing, because I used EVERY SINGLE LETTER OF THE ALPHABET in the writing of this novel! All 26 of them, I say! Coincidence? Destiny? YOU TELL ME. But that's some PRETTY SPOOKY BUSINESS, you gotta admit.
🙂
OK, I'm going to bed now.
Love

MORE HIDDEN BOOKS IN BEAUTIFUL GARDENS!
Hello my pretties!
Followers of this page may remember that I recently did a REALLY COOL event with the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, wherein we hid a bunch of early copies of "The Signature of All Things" in various nooks and crannies around the grounds, such that lucky Scottish plant-lovers could find them as they strolled along.
You may also recall that I said we'd be doing this great thing again.
Well, my dear plant and book lovers, the moment has come!
This Friday Sept. 6, five great botanical gardens across America will be hiding copies of "The Signature of All Things" all across their grounds. If you find one, you are free to take it home…it's yours to keep!
The participating gardens will be: New Jersey Skylands, Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, Coral Gables Botanical Gardens, New York Botanical Gardens and the San Francisco Botanical Gardens.
And then AGAIN, on the weekend of Sept 13 -15, the wonderful St. Louis Botanical Garden will do exactly the same thing.
Since my novel is all about botanical exploration, this just seemed like a wonderful idea to me…and super fun.
So get yourself to those great gardens if you happen to live nearby, hunt around in the beauty for copies of my book, and let me know if you find one! (You'll know you're in the right place when you see posters hanging about the gardens like the one I've shown here below.)
Here are links to all the websites and social media pages of the participating gardens, so you can get directions and hours and such:

COME SEE ME IN FRENCHTOWN THIS SATURDAY!
Hi all!
I just wanted to share this sweet event with you. This Saturday (Sept 7), the wonderful big orange Penguin Book Truck will be rolling into my hometown of Frenchtown, NJ for the afternoon. (Here's a photo of me taken this spring, in front of the very truck in question.)
Viking-Penguin is my publisher, and I love the way they retrofitted this food truck to make it into a cheerful book paradise on wheels. The truck is taking a tour across the USA, and Penguin asked if I wanted them to stop in Frenchtown…HELL YES! (I even got to pick the titles they will be selling that day — all my favorite classics!)
So we've made a celebratory day of it, in conjunction with my wonderful local bookstore (The Book Garden, on Bridge St.) Penguin will also be bringing along their sweet little pushcart (looks like a hot dog stand) which will be parked in front of the bookstore, while the big truck is parked at my store, Two Buttons (www.twobuttons.com)
To celebrate just SOME of the local talent in my town, I've invited my neighbors Rayya Elias (author of "Harley Loco") and John Smith (poet; author of "Even That Indigo") to hang out with me for the afternoon at both Two Buttons and The Book Garden.
It's all SUPER casual, but the general plan is that I'll be at the book truck, at Two Buttons, from 2 – 3 pm, and at the pushcart, at The Book Garden, from 3 – 4.
Here's an article explaining the whole deal:
Hope you can come drop by for a sweet afternoon of books and fellowship and small town charm!
🙂

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"A girl should be two things: who and what she wants."
Thank you, Coco Chanel!
(Though I must say, looking at the image accompanying this quote, I find it rather impossible to imagine Ms. Coco ever wearing such comfy old tennis shoes whilst sprawled out casually in the grass…but I want to!)
Happy day, lovelies —
Liz
