Sweet friends —

Such a happy, busy day — running around talking about novels and moss and travel and life and love…and then I just saw this really generous review of "The Signature of All Things."

There are SPOILERS, so proceed with care, but here is a nice sample:

"A radiant novel…that rare literary achievement, a big, panoramic novel about life and love that captures the idiom and tenor of its age…Like Victor Hugo or Emile Zola, Gilbert captures something important about the wider world in The Signature of All Things: a pivotal moment in history when progress defined us in concrete ways.”

Grateful! And now home for a nap, and then my first reading TONIGHT, at Union Square Barnes & Noble, at 7pm…

ONWARD!

OK, MAYBE JUST ONE MORE CAKE PHOTO….!

Good morning, my darlings.

Anybody have any interesting plans for today?

Anything going on?

Anybody else wake up a 5am, grinning, with a racing heart?

Tomorrow has arrived, my friends! Alma Whittaker is born and "The Signature of All Things" is here!

And here — for your viewing pleasure — is the cake that my friends at my publishing house, Viking, made for me yesterday, for a celebratory lunch. Apparently, they heard that I like cake. (I can't imagine where they got that notion.) Isn't it GORGEOUS?

Readers, we ate it. Book and all. And it was awesome.

So listen, I have to pull myself together now because I'm off to do THE TODAY SHOW (tune in, if you can!) and then I will do a bunch more interviews all day…and then my first event, tonight, is at 7pm at Barnes & Noble, Union Square, NYC.

Check my website (www.elizabethgilbert.com) for all my upcoming events…You're on deck Philadelphia, Miami and Atlanta!!!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Yours in moss and discovery,
LG
