Regular followers of this page are probably familiar with sweet, funny, clever, delightful May Zhong — my absolutely favorite 15 year-old El Salvadoran avid reader/future author/budding artist.
May is a regular on this page — a bright point of light every day.
She made these drawings of me and my friend Rayya Elias (author of HARLEY LOCO) and sent them in the mail.
WE LOVE THEM.
So we just had to do the double portrait selfie, for posterity, and for evidence that this fantastic gift had arrived safely.
