HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

On this beautiful afternoon, I wanted to send out my love to all the Dads out there, and to mine in particular — my charming, clever, handsome, funny (in EVERY definition of the word "funny") father. Here, in a photo from 1973, you can see me peeping out from behind him — that tall man whose head brushed up against the ceilings and the clouds of my childhood.

And I pass along to you all (FREE OF CHARGE!) the best advice my dad ever gave me, which has guided so many of my big decisions in my life, and has always managed to help to keep me free:

"Borrowing money is like wetting your bed on a cold night. At first, it is such a warm relief. But then, very quickly, comes the misery. Don't do it!"

Dear Ones –

I hadn't seen this video in years, but a friend reminded me of it recently. This was an unusual interview I did with the GREAT Marlo Thomas when my book "Committed" was first published. It was unusual because Marlo had collected dozens of questions for me from fans and readers about relationships, and we answered them all directly. We covered a lot of ground on the subject of love, as you shall see.

Marlo's awesome. Her record "Free to Be You and Me" was such a guidepost of my childhood, so it meant the world to spend a day with her…
