It's the end of summer in my hemisphere, and I'm honoring it the best way I know how: AT THE BEACH. I went for a long walk along the sea this morning at dawn and stumbled upon this scene — two small boys and one GIANT dog, absolutely romping with total abandon in the surf. I suspect this is their plan for the whole day (non-stop ROMPING!) until they finally collapse in the back seat of their mom's car tonight. When we get older, around this time of year we tend to start asking sadly, "What happened to this summer? Where did it go?" These boys aren't wondering…they're still living it. Full on! This scene brought me enough happiness to hold me through any winter to come…
