This koala was sleeping in a tree when it was rudely awakened by a gardener who decided to water his trees. Matt Wilkinson said: ‘There was a heatwave in Adelaide recently and temperatures reached up to 40C. We use the sprinklers and garden hose to wet the house and surrounding trees when it’s hot to avoid a bush fire but when I watered one of the trees, this koala got a bit of a soaking. It was a boiling hot day so i’m sure it helped the koala cool down.’

Aluna, a baby dik-dik, walks across a computer keyboard in the office of Tim Rowlands, curator of mammals at Chester Zoo. The antelope, which is only eight inches tall, is being hand-reared by the zoo after failing to bond with its mother.

Question of the day…WHAT'S THE MOST PERFECT PLACE YOU'VE EVER BEEN?

I wanted to share with you all this article I recently wrote for Outside Magazine, just published this week. I hope it will fuel your own dreams for travel…and it also made me want to ask everyone to discuss the most perfect places in the world they've ever seen, whether near to home or far flung. So do tell! (I'll be taking notes, for my own future adventures!)

Have a beautiful weekend,
Liz

Elizabeth Gilbert says she’s never going back to Luang Prabang. Her memory of the place—and of one meal in particular—is too wonderful to risk a second glance.
