HAPPINESS JARS, revisited!

It's been wonderful to see people sending in their Happiness Jar photos, and I thought I would re-post my original message on the subject again, in case anyone else wants to start this practice, or if anyone was wondering what all the jars are about. Here goes:

Timeline Photos
JAR OF HAPPINESS. I made a vow to myself years ago that every night I would write down the happiest moment of my day and save it forever. I did this for a long time. This photo is my most recent JAR OF HAPPINESS, loyally filled with little scraps of old bills and junk mail, with the best moment of each day scrawled on the backs. For some reason, over the last year, I have let the practice go—not because I've been sad (even in a sad day, after all, there is always one least-crappy moment) but because I've been too busy. Too busy to take 10 seconds every night to preserve the simplest and happiest moments of my life? ENOUGH! Time to start stuffing the jar with joy again! I'm beginning again today. Who's with me?

INSPIRATION OF THE DAY…

Some of you may have remembered me mentioning before on this Facebook page my friend Ela Wojtowicz, who I met years ago at a book signing for Eat, Pray, Love. Ela is an extraordinary young woman of great spirit who has recently become a certified yoga instructor, despite her cerebral palsy. Here's a lovely article about her:

Ela has asked me to share this link below with everyone. She's raising money to take a trip to Ecuador, to work on an environmental activism project. She's pretty awesome, and if you want to support her, by all means, FEEL FREE!

Blessings,
Liz

SPEAKING OF BOOK COVERS…

Yesterday I received this — the stunning design for the German edition of "The Signature of All Things." I love it. It's so lush and classical and rich and grand.

Now comes the fun part for me, when the all designs for all the foreign editions of the novel start coming in, and I can see all the different interpretations of Alma Whittaker's story across the world. Art directors of the universe, start your engines! This is your moment! The bar has been set!

I will share all the covers with you folks, just as soon as I receive them. Collect them all! Trade with your friends!

And for you German readers, please note that this German-language edition of the novel will be published (by Bloomsbury) on October 1, 2103, at the same time as the English edition.

AND I WILL BE COMING TO GERMANY IN NOVEMBER TO VISIT YOU!

So mark your calendars. Looking forward to it…

Veilen Dank!

xo,
Liz
