THANK YOU, Barnes and Noble, for naming "The Signature of All Things" as one of the 15 best novels of 2013!

Click on this link to see the others…curious to know how many of these you have all read?

Of the other novels on this list, I most loved "The Goldfinch" and "The Interestings"….how about you?

Dear friends —

Last Tuesday, I spoke at the New York Public Library (my holy of holies) with my friend the novelist Ann Patchett.

They had an illustrator at the event, who sketched these pictures of us, along with quotes from our conversation — so lovely….thought you might enjoy.

I especially love Ann's statement that we must write the book that we miss, that we ourselves long to read. That is, I think, the very heart and bones of creativity — to make by hand the thing that you feel empty without, the thing that you feel the world is lacking. You see the void and you fill it…

SMOOCH,
LG

Stopped into a small book store in Figueres, Spain during my big European adventure with my boyfriend and decided to pick up your book in Español to work on perfecting my language skills. Traveled from Litchfield, CT to Europe and your writing helps me feel a connection to home. It's a magical way to test my language skills. Thanks, Liz!
