A CALL FOR COLLECTIVE WISDOM!
Dear friends —
A friend of this page needs help, and I thought you all might be able to offer some suggestions/perspective/comfort. She wants to know what to do when you call out in prayer, in need, but hear nothing in response — no voice, no answer, no peace.
How do you endure and keep faith?
I have been there myself, and it can be incredibly painful. I think my response was just to keep asking, keep returning to the source, keep believing that — just because you don't hear a reply doesn't mean nobody is listening. Also, I felt like I had no choice but to keep praying. Turning to God, for me, was like knocking on the door of the very last house on the street…after that, there was nowhere else to turn. So I knocked, and knocked, and knocked…
Also, I allowed myself to feel my humanity — to believe that what I was experiencing (despair) connected me to thousands and thousands of my fellow humans who have been through the same empty darkness, and to hope that this experience would make me a more compassionate and empathetic person, as a result.
But I want to hear your thoughts on this — all of you who have collectively lived so many years and have been through so many trials.
What do you do when you feel there is no answer from the other end of the divine conversation?
A little help for Jessica today, everyone…with all our love.
