I met this author, Torre de Roche, last week in Australia, and she gave me a copy of her terrific memoir LOVE WITH A CHANCE OF DROWNING.

Then I found this blog post of hers, about how it took her eight years to write her book — with absolutely no assurance of any sort of good outcome — and why that sort of dedicated creative labor is totally worth it.

This is right on the money, you guys, and very inspiring.
